We have all heard of the incredible credit card abuse from government agencies. Often government workers are given government credit cards for expenses when they travel and to cut through the red tape so they can get their job done. Unfortunately many government workers have been less than honest with these credit cards and they have abuse the privilege of using them for personal use. This of course has angered taxpayer watchdog groups and many Congressmen and Senators. Of course our politicians are not exactly beyond reproach either. There are hundreds of reports on this. Some from the GAO, OMB, which are real government in-depth reports that most people do not read, who has time? Many United States citizens have no idea how bad the credit card abuse really is. In fact at one point Home Depot stopped taking Government Credit Cards, perhaps because they were fraudulently used and the government auditors would not reimburse them. Many people deny that the government abuses their credit cards and yet I have so much proof, that I feel perhaps that the general public either does not care or they are not understanding the seriousness of this issue. In fact many bureaucrats in large government agencies appear to be wishing the truth sweep under the carpet. Before retirement I was involved in the car wash industry and in our industry we had problems with employees with government credit cards. But the car wash industry is not alone with these problems or dealing with this as other businesses have to. Many businesses, restaurants, nightclubs, bars, gift shops and travel industry businesses all know of this problem and are trying to deal with it. Please consider this in 2006. |
